Hall Specifications and Amenities

The Wellington Hall consists of a Hall, an adjacent meeting room, and a kitchen for catering.  The hall and meeting room can be joined for events by opening the three sets of double doors in a partition wall.

Combined Hall  & Meeting Room

If the hall and meeting room are combined by opening the partition doors:
  • Capacity: 229.  However depending on the type of event, type of tables being used, and activities required, renters may want to plan their event for fewer attendees to ensure space is available for dancing, gift tables, etc.
  • Bathrooms: 6 toilets between 4 washrooms designated male or female

Hall

  • Capacity: 136
  • Size: 31' x 54', 1676 sq. ft, 15' ceiling (excludes stage)
  • Stage: 14' x 30', 420 sq. ft, curtained, stairs both sides, upright piano
  • Washrooms: Four toilets in two designated male and female washrooms
  • Wet Bar: Small wet bar with a fridge and sink located at the back of the hall, opposite the stage.

Meeting Room

  • Capacity: 93
  • Size: 24' x 46', 1104 sq. ft. 9' ceiling
  • Bathrooms: Two single person washrooms designated male and female.

Internet & Technology

High speed internet is available in the hall.  There is no charge for internet use.  An Ethernet jack is available in the large hall by the stage, and wireless is available elsewhere in the hall.  To prevent abuse the wireless access is sometimes limited so please ensure you let us know when booking the hall if you need wireless internet access.

Basic cable TV and telephone are also available in the hall.

Kitchen

The hall has a large kitchen which is accessible from both the Hall and the meeting room.  Renters must supply their own cookware and cooking utensils.

  • Size: 20' x 23', 460 sq. feet.
  • Cooking: Commercial fridge, stove and oven with lots of workspace, (bring your own cooking utensils)
  • Dishes: Matching dishes and cutlery for approximately 150 settings, (Misc settings for 200+)
  • Cleaning:  2 Double sinks for washing, and a commercial sanitizer

Tables, Chairs and Accessibility

  • Chairs: We have more chairs than the hall can hold.
    • 120 padded metal restaurant chairs,
    • 120 stacking wooden chairs.
  • Tables: We have enough tables to fill the hall to capacity.  The hall supplies rectangular/banquet tables as these require less space per guest when compared with round tables and are more flexible when setting up events which require buffets or other amenities.
    • 8' x 30" rectangular/banquet: 19 tables.  Each table seats 8 or 10 people.
    • 6' x 30" rectangular/banquet: 4 tables.  Seats 6 or 8 people.
    • 2' x 2' square: 14 tables. Seats 4 people.
    • If extra tables are required, up to fourteen 6' banquet tables can be borrowed from one of our user groups for an honourarium of $2 per table.
  • Accessibility: The hall has a level entry from the south parking lot.
Parking
Approximately 50 unmarked stalls onsite, with curb parking available along Corrunna Ave.

SOCAN

To play music in a public place, even if you bought the music, requires a license.  The hall is licensed by SOCAN under tarrif 21.  This covers most events at the hall, such as exercise classes, dancing, parties and receptions.  Some events, like concerts, may need to get a special SOCAN license.
